The St. Cloud State women's hockey team raised money in support of the fight against breast cancer and breast cancer awareness earlier this season by selling "Huskies for a Cure" bracelets. The team recently donated their earnings from those sales by giving the $500 they raised to the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" event that was held on the SCSU campus on Oct. 23.
Organized by the American Cancer Society, the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is a noncompetitive event that unites the community to honor and celebrate breast cancer survivors.
Other goals include educating women about reducing their cancer risk, providing hope to people facing the disease and raising money to fund lifesaving research and support programs to further progress against the disease.?<< Previous??|??Archive??|??Next >>
